Serving Tea: Stories from Taipei’s Red-Light District

The women featured in this book work in “teahouses” or are engaged in the sex trade in Taipei’s Wanhua district; they exist on the lowest and most vulnerable strata of the sex industry. Through 12 author-conducted interviews, they tell their stories, letting readers know how they entered this profession, detailing their day-to-day lives, and outlining their inner struggles, desires, and aspirations.
